GP Petroleums Ltd recently said its joint venture company, Amron Oil Resources Pvt Ltd, has been selected as the operating partner for Indian Oil Corporation Ltd’s (IOCL) bitumen cell at Pipavav, Gujarat.
Amron Oil Resources is a 50:50 joint venture between GP Petroleums and West Coast Oils LLP. The company manufactures speciality bitumen products, including bitumen emulsions, polymer modified bitumen (PMB) and crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRMB), which are used in road construction.
GP Petroleums said bulk bitumen dispatches from the Pipavav facility commenced on June 4, 2026. The facility was inaugurated as part of IndianOil’s SPRINT 2026 Mission Excellence initiative.
The Pipavav bitumen cell is expected to strengthen the supply of speciality bitumen products across Gujarat and neighbouring regions, while its location near Pipavav port is expected to improve logistics efficiency for infrastructure projects, the company said.
"The selection of Amron Oil Resources as Indian Oil Corporation Limited's (IOCL) operating partner for the Pipavav Bitumen Cell marks a significant milestone for GP Petroleums. It reflects the strength of our partnerships, our technical expertise, and our commitment to contributing meaningfully to India's infrastructure growth story," a GP Petroleums spokesperson said.
The company added that the partnership with IOCL will expand its presence in the speciality bitumen segment, which supports India's growing road and transport infrastructure sector.
