ITC plans new food processing plant

Kolkata: ITC Ltd plans to invest Rs 300 crore to build a new food processing plant in eastern India.The food-processing unit would help the company expand its snacks foods business in the eastern region.

“We are in an advanced stage of negotiation to get around 40 acres for the unit in West Bengal,” he said. The tobacco major is expanding its portfolio of foods, which includes salty snacks and ready-to-eat foods. ITC manufactures snacks foods under the brand name Bingo.
