ITI Limited, the country’s first PSU established after Independence and a leading telecom manufacturing company, has received a work order worth ₹856.39 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the expansion of its 4G mobile network in West India.
The turnkey project involves planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the 4G mobile network across 7,613 sites in the West Zone. The project is part of BSNL’s initiative to deploy indigenous 4G telecom equipment under the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat push and strengthen self-reliance in the telecom sector.
ITI Limited, along with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as a consortium partner, had earlier successfully executed a ₹2,640-crore Phase IX.2 project for provisioning BSNL’s 4G mobile network across the West Zone. The project covered Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and the Mumbai Licensed Service Area (LSA), involving RF planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, integration and annual maintenance of 23,633 sites.
Following the successful completion of the earlier project, ITI Limited has now received the additional order for expanding the BSNL West Zone network, including saturation sites funded through the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) initiative. The latest order includes the supply, installation and commissioning of 7,613 sites.
Commenting on the development, Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director, ITI Limited, said the order reflects BSNL’s continued confidence in the company’s execution capabilities and its role in advancing India’s self-reliant telecom ecosystem.
ITI Limited is also currently executing Bharatnet Phase III projects worth ₹7,000 crore for BSNL across Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur.
