Japan-based Takasago International India, a prominent player in the global flavour and fragrances industry, is gearing up for a significant expansion in India. Shaheel TTP, Managing Director for India and South Asia, unveiled the company's ambitious plans to tap into new market opportunities and bolster its presence in the country.

Since its inception in 2014, Takasago International India has steadily strengthened its foothold in the Indian market. The company established its own facility in Chennai dedicated to research and development, marketing, and manufacturing of flavour and fragrance products. With a production capacity of 20,000 tonnes annually, the facility aims to introduce Japanese technology to deliver unique and distinctive experiences for Indian consumers.

Shaheel TTP emphasized Takasago's commitment to investing in India, particularly in R&D infrastructure, talent acquisition, and technology transfers. He highlighted the remarkable growth trajectory of Takasago's business in India, which has witnessed a tenfold increase since its inception, with a compound annual growth rate exceeding 40%.

In a recent development, Takasago inaugurated its International India Fragrance Centre in Mumbai, focusing on fragrance research, creation, and sensory evaluation. This facility will cater to the preferences of Indian beauty consumers, collaborating closely with local fragrance experts and perfumers to understand the cultural significance of scents within the Indian context.

Moreover, Takasago plans to offer personalized fragrance consultations and experiences to enable consumers to explore scents that align with their individual preferences and lifestyles.
