Jaya Launches 4 New Drinking Water Projects.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has inaugurated four enhanced drinking water projects, 47 modern sanitary complexes, five bus terminuses and new office buildings for Municipal Administration Department, constructed at a total cost of Rs. 123 crore. This included the drinking water improvement project in Coonoor municipality in Nilgiris district set up at a cost of Rs. 13.85 crore to provide 90 litre of protected drinking water per day.
The CM also inaugurated drinking water improvement projects at Jagathala town panchayat in Nilgiris, Pathamadai town panchayat and Keezhanatham panchayat in Tirunelveli, Sholavanthan town panchayat in Madurai. Other amenities inaugurated were: underground sewerage systems in Mahabalipuram town panchayat in Kancheepuram and Theni- Allinagaram municipality in Theni.
New office buildings for Municipal Administration Department in Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Ranipet, Thuraiyur, Paramakudi and Oddanchathiram, Gummidipoondi, Kalakkadu, Thirukkurunkudi, Kothagiri, Elumalai, Kothagiri and Santhi Nagar, five bus terminuses constructed at Thiruvnthipuram in Tiruvannamalai, Punseipuliyampatti in Erode, Nelliyalam municipality in Nilgiris, Palladam and Rudravathi in Tirupur, 47 modern sanitary complexes at Kelamangalam, Melathiruppanthuruthi, Vallam, Perumagalur, Thirukkattupalli, Nannilam, Mannachanallur, Musiri, Thottiyam, Mettupalayam, Samayapuram Kannanur, Thathaiyangarpettai, Sirugamani, Poovalur, Ponnampatti, Kurumbalur, Karambakkudi, Keeramangalam and Varadharajanpettai were also inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
Ambedkar wedding hall and Gandhi park in Tambaram, commercial complex in Madathukulam and weekly shandi at Kaveripattinam, Light Vehicles Road at Ukkadam Periyakulam in Coimbatore and 408 LED streetlights on Palakkad-Athupalam Junction were also inaugurated by the CM.
