Jindal Steel Commissions 5 MTPA Blast Furnace at Angul Plant.

Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) recently announced the commissioning of a new 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) blast furnace at its Angul plant in Odisha, marking a key milestone in its ongoing expansion project worth over ₹20,000 crore.

In a statement, the company said the newly commissioned blast furnace, with an inner volume of 5,499 cubic meters, is one of the largest in India.

This development will enable Jindal Steel to double the steel production capacity at its Angul facility-from the current 6 MTPA to 12 MTPA-further strengthening its position in the Indian steel manufacturing sector.
