JSW Energy Utkal Receives LoA for 400 MW Power Supply from PCKL.

JSW Energy (Utkal) Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Power Company of Karnataka Limited (PCKL) for a 400 MW power supply arrangement spanning 25 years, starting April 1, 2026. The coal required for the plant will be procured from Coal India Limited under the SHAKTI Scheme 2017.

Upon regulatory approval and signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Utkal will have 57% of its total generation capacity secured under this long-term contract, providing significant earnings stability for the plant.

JSW Energy currently has a total locked-in generation capacity of 30.5 GW, which includes 13.2 GW operational capacity, 12.5 GW under construction across thermal and renewable projects, and 150 MW under acquisition in hydro power. Additionally, the company has a pipeline of 4.6 GW in development.

In energy storage, JSW Energy has locked-in 29.4 GWh capacity through hydro pumped storage projects (26.4 GWh) and battery energy storage systems (3.0 GWh). The company aims to expand to 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by FY 2030, with a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
