Kanpur Metro Starts I-Girder Erection for 4.5-km Elevated Section of Corridor-2.

Construction on the Agriculture University–Barra-8 elevated section of Kanpur Metro’s Corridor-2 is moving swiftly, with the erection of I-Girders now underway for the approximately 4.5-kilometer stretch.

The first I-Girder was installed near Vijay Nagar Chauraha metro station. These girders, shaped like the English letter ‘I’, are essential components used in elevated metro structures, particularly at crossover or track change points.

A total of around 164 I-Girders will be installed along this elevated section. They are being cast at the Naubasta casting yard as part of the ongoing infrastructure development for the metro project.
