Karnataka to Establish Net-Zero Jewellery Park Near Kempegowda Airport to Boost Exports.

Karnataka has announced plans to establish a net-zero Jewellery Park near Kempegowda International Airport to enhance the state’s jewellery export sector.

Speaking at the Jewellery Expo on Friday, MB Patil, Minister of Large and Medium Industries, said the government is open to allocating land for the project and encouraged industrialists to invest in the growing sector.

“Karnataka remains a preferred hub for jewellery manufacturing and exports, offering world-class infrastructure, forward-looking policies, and a skilled workforce. The Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery in Udupi has been instrumental in training artisans to support this industry,” Patil said.

India’s jewellery trade sees annual transactions worth $32 billion, with major export destinations including the US, UAE, Russia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Highlighting Karnataka’s potential in the sector, Patil assured that the state government would extend full support to facilitate growth and investment in jewellery manufacturing and exports.
