KCR wants bridge on Musi constructed in shortest time.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked Chinese infrastructure companies that discussed with him the proposed irrigation projects, highways and bridges recently, to complete the six-lane bridge over 42 km from east to west on Musi, in the shortest time.
The companies offered to submit to the government detailed project reports on the bridge across Musi as well as at four places on Godavari and tunnels to carry water from Godavari to mid-Manair balancing reservoir within a month. Mr. Rao decided to take a final view on the projects on receipt of the reports, a press release said.
It added that the representatives of the two companies again met Mr. Rao on Thursday after an aerial survey of the proposed and ongoing irrigation projects, highways and bridges. The delegation visited Dharmaram and Choppadandi in Karimnagar district by helicopter. It also saw the tunnel works and returned to Hyderabad to inspect the site of the proposed bridge on Musi.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Somesh Kumar explained to them the proposals of the bridge.
Mr. Rao also discussed with them the skyscrapers proposed around Hussainsagar lake.
They explained to them the revolutionary changes in construction technology. Mr. Rao said the government aimed to build high rise towers and sought reports from the companies.
