Kerala Government to Implement Drive and Charge Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles

Common concerns such as range anxiety, insufficient charging infrastructure, and long charging times for electric vehicle (EV) users may soon find a solution if the plans of the Government of Kerala materialize.

The state is making strides towards introducing wireless EV charging infrastructure in the next financial year, potentially becoming the pioneer in the sub-continent to do so. This innovative system would enable charging while driving, revolutionizing the EV charging landscape.

The proposed system relies on copper coils embedded beneath the road surface to facilitate charging of EVs as they move along the roadway.
