KPI Green Energy Secures Letter of Intent from GUVNL.
KPI Green Energy Limited has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for the development of a 150 MW grid-connected wind power project. This significant development, confirmed by an LOI dated July 14, 2025, marks a major step forward for KPI Green Energy in the renewable energy sector.
The formal Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with GUVNL will be executed once the necessary approvals are obtained from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).
The LOI was granted following KPI Green Energy's participation in a competitive bidding process initiated by GUVNL. This process, under "Procurement of power through competitive bidding process vide RfS No. GUVNL / 250 MW / Wind (Phase IX)," commenced on January 18, 2025, and culminated in a reverse e-auction held on April 22, 2025. The tender originally sought proposals for 250 MW Grid Connected Wind Power Projects, with an additional Greenshoe option for up to 250 MW. KPI Green Energy emerged as the successful bidder, securing a 150 MW capacity allocation within the project.
This substantial order is "closely aligned with our strategic vision and our ambitious target of achieving 10 GW capacity by 2030," stated a representative from KPI Green Energy. The company highlighted that "the magnitude of this LOA is a testament to the trust and confidence placed in our company's technical expertise, capabilities, and commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable energy solutions."
This project is expected to significantly contribute to Gujarat's renewable energy goals and reinforce KPI Green Energy's position as a key player in India's green energy transition.
