Lahore–Kasur Road will be completed soon: CM
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the Lahore–Kasur Road would be completed at the earliest to provide better traveling facilities for the people and to promote trade and business activities.
Expressing displeasure over the delay in the completion of the Lahore–Kasur Road, the CM, said that the project should be completed by September 25. He said that action would be taken against the people and firms responsible for the delay in the road’s construction. He said that trees should be planted and lights installed along the road, adding that a committee should be constituted for maintenance.
The chief minister directed the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) authorities to immediately start sewerage work for the road and complete it at the earliest.
He said that the government had evolved a comprehensive policy for removing illegal encroachments, and an operation was being carried out against all encroachers. However, he said that the poor venders should be treated with leniency to ensure that they do not face hardships due to the closure of their businesses.
Shahbaz said that special attention was being paid to development projects and to improve the infrastructure in the province. He added that the pace of work had been accelerated on the ongoing development projects in various cities of the Punjab.
