"L&T Secures Power Transmission Contracts Worth Up to ₹5,000 Crore".
On Monday, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has secured new orders worth up to ₹5,000 crore in India and abroad. These orders include the establishment of substations and transmission lines, which are crucial components of the interconnected electricity network. The company emphasized that a strengthened grid is essential for accelerating the clean energy transition and ensuring a reliable and resilient power supply.
The company classified these contracts as "Large" orders, which fall within the range of ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore, according to L&T’s project classification.
In India, PT&D has received orders to execute two 765kV Double Circuit Transmission Line packages. These lines are part of the infrastructure needed to evacuate power from the Jaisalmer/Barmer Renewable Energy Zone in Rajasthan to substations in Madhya Pradesh, facilitating further interconnections.
Internationally, PT&D has secured significant projects. In Saudi Arabia, the company will contribute to strengthening the 380kV network in the central region by building a 380kV substation and several 380kV overhead line segments. Additionally, in the United Arab Emirates, PT&D will construct a 220kV substation and three 132kV substations, which will help meet the growing electricity demand in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
