"L&T Technology Services has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the Kochi Metro Phase 2 telecommunications contract."
Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has announced L&T Technology Services Limited as the lowest bidder for the Telecommunication System contract of Kochi Metro Phase 2.
KMRL had invited bids for the contract with a completion timeline of 730 days. The technical bids were opened on November 17, 2025, with three firms submitting proposals for the project. Following the technical evaluation conducted on December 30, 2025, the financial bids were opened on the same day.
After evaluation of the financial bids, L&T Technology Services Limited emerged as the lowest bidder with a quoted value of ₹95.3 crore. Siemens Limited submitted a bid of ₹103.3 crore, while Alstom Transport India Limited quoted ₹116.7 crore.
The scope of the contract includes the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the telecommunication system for Phase II of the Kochi Metro Rail Project.
Kochi Metro Phase 2 comprises a single metro corridor, known as the Pink Line, which is currently under construction. The 11.2-km-long corridor will run from JLN Stadium to Infopark and will include 11 stations, significantly enhancing public transport connectivity in the city’s eastern corridor.
