"L&T Urged to Accelerate Mallige Line Progress in Bengaluru Rail Project"

Gaurav Gupta, the Additional Chief Secretary and Managing Director of Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE), has issued a directive to contractor firm Larsen and Toubro (L&T) to accelerate construction efforts on the Mallige Line (Corridor-2) within the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, which stretches from Benniganahalli to Chikkabanavara.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has set a strict deadline of 40 months for the project's completion. With over 12 months having already passed, K-RIDE is determined to expedite construction activities to meet the established timeline, according to sources within the organization.

To address this urgency, Gaurav Gupta conducted a comprehensive review meeting, engaging with L&T executives and K-RIDE officials to provide crucial directives. During this session, Gupta urged L&T to double their workforce, emphasizing the necessity of meeting project milestones in a timely manner. He also sought updates on the progress made in resolving impediments, with a particular focus on land acquisition challenges, as reported by sources familiar with the matter.
