Luker India Expands Portfolio with Wires & Cables Foray.

Luker India, a prominent player in LED lighting and BLDC fans, is poised to make a significant entry into India's rapidly expanding wires and cable business. The company announced its strategic diversification, with the new product line expected to launch by the end of June, initially focusing on the South Indian market.

Production for the wires and cables has already commenced at Luker India's manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, where the company has invested ₹150 crore to establish the new operations. To amplify brand visibility and market reach, popular actor Prabhudeva has been enlisted as the brand ambassador for the new product category, according to Jothish Kumar V, Managing Director of Luker Electric Technologies Pvt Ltd.

In an interaction with BusinessLine, Kumar highlighted the immense potential of the Indian wires and cable market, estimating its current size at ₹35,000 crore. He attributed this robust growth to increasing consumption, particularly in rural areas, which are experiencing accelerated development and driving demand for essential infrastructure products.

This strategic move marks Luker India's expansion beyond its established presence in LED lighting and BLDC fans, positioning the company to capitalize on the burgeoning demand within the electrical products sector across the country. The initial focus on South India suggests a targeted approach to establish a strong foothold before a potential wider national rollout.
