Maars foray into infrastructure

Chennai: Maars Software International plans to enter into joint venture for infrastructure development across India for developing residential and commercial complex at a cost of around Rs 2,000 crore. It also plans to set up a subsidiary company - Maars International Pvt Ltd - to foray into media, entertainment and film distribution business with a total project outlay of up to Rs 100 crore, according to information sent by the Chennai-based software company to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). For the quarter ended June 2007, the company reported a net profit of Rs 2.2 lakh on turnover of Rs 8.10 crore, says information in the BSE Web site. Company officials could not be contacted for further details.
