Mafatlal Industries Commissions Solar Power Project to Meet Captive Energy Needs at Nadiad Plant.

Mafatlal Industries Limited, one of India’s established textile companies, has commissioned a 4 MWp captive ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power project at its manufacturing facility in Nadiad, Gujarat.

The solar installation, developed with an investment of approximately ₹11 crore, is expected to generate around 66 lakh kWh of net usable electricity annually. The power generated will cater to a portion of the facility’s energy requirements, helping the company reduce its reliance on conventional power sources.

The project is expected to enhance cost competitiveness by lowering energy expenses, a significant component of textile manufacturing costs. Alongside operational benefits, the initiative will contribute to reducing the company’s carbon footprint and supports its focus on sustainable and responsible business practices.

Mafatlal Industries said the solar project is part of its broader efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, improve manufacturing competitiveness, and promote sustainable growth.
