Mahanagar Gas Partners Fourth Partner Energy for Clean Energy Push in Commercial, Industrial Segment.

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of India’s leading city gas distribution companies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fourth Partner Energy Pvt. Ltd. (FPEL), a major renewable energy developer, to jointly explore opportunities in renewable energy generation and supply for commercial and industrial customers within MGL’s operational areas.

The MoU was signed by MGL Vice President (BD, STU, Commercial and BIS) Manas Das and Fourth Partner Energy CEO (Distributed Business) Jay Kumar Waghela, in the presence of MGL Managing Director Praveer Kumar Srivastava, Deputy Managing Director Ajay Sinha, and FPEL Co-Founder and Executive Director Saif Dhorajiwala.

Under the agreement, both companies will collaborate to identify and develop clean energy solutions tailored to the evolving needs of business customers, leveraging their respective capabilities in gas distribution and renewable energy development. The initiative aligns with rising demand for sustainable energy alternatives and India’s broader transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Speaking on the occasion, MGL Managing Director Praveer Kumar Srivastava said the partnership reflects the company’s focus on expanding its clean energy portfolio and supporting sustainable development. He added that while MGL already supplies cleaner fuel to industries and commercial establishments, the collaboration would enable it to broaden its offerings into renewable energy solutions, helping customers reduce their carbon footprint.

Fourth Partner Energy Co-founder and Executive Director Saif Dhorajiwala said the global energy sector is rapidly shifting towards decarbonisation, with corporates increasingly adopting integrated energy solutions that combine renewable power, storage and advanced energy management. He noted that the partnership with MGL would help deliver reliable, cost-effective and low-carbon solutions to businesses.

The collaboration marks a step towards integrated clean energy offerings for India’s commercial and industrial segments, combining renewable generation capabilities with existing city gas infrastructure.
