"Maharashtra Secures ₹30 Trillion in Investment Deals at WEF Davos, Aiming to Create 4 Million Jobs."
Maharashtra has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs. 30 lakh crore at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, a move that could generate up to 40 lakh jobs across sectors such as industry, services, agriculture and technology, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday.
Addressing a virtual press conference from the Swiss city, Fadnavis said discussions are currently at a preliminary stage for additional projects valued between Rs. 7 lakh crore and Rs. 10 lakh crore. He added that these MoUs are expected to be converted into concrete projects within the next two months.
The chief minister noted that 83 per cent of the MoUs signed represent direct foreign investment. Another 16 per cent of the proposed investment involves technical partnerships with financial institutions, focusing on import-substitute technologies, he said.
