Male to get 134 houses

Male: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development said that foundation of 134 houses to be constructed in Nolhivaramfaru of Hdh Atoll will be laid today. According to Housing Ministry, a total of 234 houses are to be built in the island of Nolhivarumfaru and are to be given to islanders of Kuburudhoo and Maavaidhoo of the same atoll, who are relocated to Nolhivarumfare under the population consolidation programme.

Ministry informed that foundation of some 134 houses is to be laid and work on the remaining houses will soon commence.

The foundations will be laid at a ceremony specially held for the occasion by Housing Minister Ibrahim Rafeeq, Atolls Minister Thasmeen Ali and Planning Minister Hamdhoon Hameed.

According to Planning Ministry the contractor for the construction of 134 houses is Alia Construction Pvt. Ltd and as per contractual agreement work is expected to be completed with 20 months. Planning Ministry informs that the contract value of the project is Rf.89, 611,149.
