Maruti Suzuki Ramps Up Kharkhoda Capacity to Fuel SUV Expansion.

Maruti Suzuki is banking on the expansion of its Kharkhoda manufacturing facility in Haryana to strengthen its position in India's highly competitive SUV market, with higher production of the Brezza, Fronx and Victoris expected to ease supply constraints and support future growth.

The automaker currently has an annual production capacity of 500,000 vehicles at the Kharkhoda plant following the commissioning of its second manufacturing line in May. The facility is planned to be expanded to one million units a year, making it a key part of Maruti Suzuki's long-term strategy to raise its overall production capacity to four million vehicles annually.

Speaking at the launch of the refreshed Brezza, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, said the additional capacity at Kharkhoda would improve the availability of the company's popular SUVs, particularly the Brezza and Fronx, which have been constrained by production limitations.

The expanded production base is expected to help Maruti Suzuki meet rising demand in the fast-growing SUV segment while reinforcing its market presence through improved supply and shorter waiting periods for customers.
