Metro reaches a milestone.

Namma Metro has successfully completed the trial run in the underground section of the East-West line.

The train chugged into Magadi Road station recently at 6.45 p.m. without encountering any problem.

U.A. Vasantha Rao, general manager (Finance), Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL), told The Hindu that the train, which started its trial run from M.G. Road station recently, was pulled by a battery-operated bogie tractor. It entered the underground tunnel at Cubbon Park station and travelled 4.8 km to reach the Magadi Road station.

The train will now undergo preliminary manual testing. Dynamic testing, with traction power, from Magadi Road station is expected to begin after three days.
