Ministry of Defence Signs Contract with HAL for 8 Dornier Aircraft at ₹2,312 Crore
The Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹2,312 crore contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) for the supply of eight Dornier 228 aircraft along with operational role equipment for the Indian Coast Guard, under the Buy (Indian) category.
The acquisition is part of the Coast Guard’s capacity-building plan to expand its fleet of air assets from the current 80, which includes aircraft and helicopters, to 100 by 2030.
The contract was signed by HAL’s Kanpur-based Transport Aircraft Division in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in the national capital.
