"Mormugao Port Set to Achieve 100% Solar Power by Mid-2024"
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Indian Oil Corporation's state-of-the-art LPG Import Terminal at Puthuvypeen, Kochi, during his visit to Kerala and Andhra Pradesh on January 16-17, 2024. Part of a series of infrastructure projects worth over ₹4,000 crore, the terminal aims to ensure a consistent LPG supply for households and businesses in the region.
The prime minister's itinerary includes launching the new campus of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN) in Andhra Pradesh, followed by religious rituals in Kerala and the inauguration of key projects, including the LPG Import Terminal, New Dry Dock, and International Ship Repair Facility at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL).
The LPG Import Terminal at Puthuvypeen, built at a cost of ₹1,236 crore, boasts a storage capacity of 15,400 MT and plays a crucial role in India's commitment to accessible and affordable energy. Modi will also unveil the New Dry Dock (NDD) and International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) at CSL, contributing to significant advancements in the maritime sector.
These infrastructure developments align with the Prime Minister's vision of enhancing India's shipbuilding and repair capacities, fostering economic growth, reducing logistics costs, and promoting self-reliance. The visit underscores the government's commitment to creating business opportunities and improving civil service capacity through initiatives like the new NACIN campus equipped with advanced technologies for training in indirect taxation and narcotics control administration."
