Motherson Launches Cutting-Edge Automotive Lighting Plant in Gujarat.

Motherson Group has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat, focused on producing advanced exterior lighting systems for passenger vehicles. The plant has been set up under its joint venture with Marelli, strengthening the group’s presence in high-value automotive components.

Spread across 8,200 square metres, the facility is the first in India capable of manufacturing edge-to-edge, single-piece long lighting components. The capability is enabled by high-tonnage multi-colour moulding machines ranging from 2,000T to 2,700T, the company said in a statement.

The plant will produce seamless Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and Rear Combination Lamps (RCLs), which are increasingly being used as signature styling elements in modern passenger vehicles.
