MoU signed for diagnostic centre in Karnataka
Hyderabad: The Genome Foundation in Hyderabad has signed an MoU with Sri Devaraj Urs University in Kolar, Karnataka,to establish a satellite diagnostic centre in Karnataka to serve the rural community.
The purpose is to create awareness about genetic diseases and to provide available cure and counselling. The foundation plans to establish branches across the country.
The first rural centre has been established in Kalawari village, District Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, by the Genome Foundation, a non-profit organisation.
According to the MoU, Sri Devaraj Urs University would identify land in its campus and donate it free of cost to the Genome Foundation to establish the rural centre in the next 18 months.
The MoU was signed by Dr Lalji Singh, Founder Director and Managing Director, Genome Foundation, and Dr S. Chandrashekar Shetty, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Deveraj Urs University, recently.
