Nestlé Signs MoU with Food Processing Ministry to Accelerate Investments.
Nestlé India has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) to accelerate investments in both greenfield and brownfield projects across Odisha and its existing manufacturing locations. The agreement was signed during the World Food India Summit 2025 held in New Delhi.
Manish Tiwary, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé India, emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the food processing sector. “This MoU underscores Nestlé India’s dedication to investments in greenfield and brownfield projects over the next two to three years. It is expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities, reinforcing our support for India’s growth story as we advance towards Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.
Nestlé India collaborates with over 100,000 farmers across dairy, coffee, spices, wheat, sugarcane, and rice sectors, backed by a robust supplier network. The company operates nine factories in India, producing high-quality products that reach consumers through 10,000 distributors and redistributors and over 5.2 million retail outlets nationwide.
This partnership aims to boost local manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the government’s vision of strengthening the food processing industry in India.
