New International Terminal at Guwahati Airport to Open in November.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the new international terminal at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport will be opened to travelers in November of this year. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be invited to inaugurate the new facility.

Sarma made the announcement after reviewing the terminal's construction progress on Wednesday night with a delegation from Bhutan. The Bhutanese delegation, representing the Gelephu Mindful City, expressed appreciation for the new terminal, noting its potential to boost connectivity with their country.

"On the verge of completion, it will boost connectivity in the Northeast and also enhance connectivity for our neighbour Bhutan. Come November, get ready to fly into a whole new experience," the Chief Minister posted on X.

In a related announcement, Sarma also said that five new foot over-bridges will be constructed between Khanapara and Jalukbari in Guwahati to improve pedestrian safety.
