Nexzu Mobility Unveils Ambitious Plan for Rs. 5,000 Crore Smart EV Park in Gujarat
Nexzu Mobility, the electric mobility firm founded by Atulya Mittal, has put forth plans to establish a Smart EV Park in Gujarat, with a substantial investment of Rs. 5,000 crore over the next decade. The company announced this initiative recently, revealing that an initial memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed with the state government to facilitate the project.
The proposed project is poised to kick off next year once the necessary land has been allocated to Nexzu Mobility. According to the company's statement, the investment is expected to create employment opportunities for over 5,000 individuals over the course of the next decade.
The Smart EV Park aims to function as a comprehensive hub, providing solutions for Electric Vehicle (EV) companies, professionals, owners, and users. This includes fostering an ecosystem in a concentrated area, infrastructure sharing, and more.
"Atulya Mittal, the founder of Nexzu Mobility, emphasized, "With its focus on clean energy and mobility, high-tech manufacturing and innovation, Gujarat is a fantastic destination for a Smart EV Park. The establishment of the park will strengthen the state's standing as an EV manufacturing hub and support the 'Make-in-India, Make-for-the-World' initiative in the industry."
The proposed Smart EV Park is envisioned as an industrial park featuring ready-to-move-in manufacturing facilities, common testing facilities, common research and development (R&D) units, housing, and educational and healthcare facilities. It will also offer facilities designed to train professionals in the latest advancements in electronics, battery manufacturing, powertrains, and other EV components.
Nexzu Mobility highlights the strategic significance of the initial agreement between the company and the Gujarat government, positioning it as a pivotal moment in the mobility space. The company states that Electric Vehicles (EVs) play a crucial role in India's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and are gaining increased acceptance among commercial and passenger vehicle customers.
Chintamani Sardesai, Business Head at Nexzu Mobility, commented on the development, stating, "At this hub, we will provide support to OEMs manufacturing commercial as well as passenger vehicles across segments, along with battery manufacturers." The Smart EV Park is also designed to support startup entities lacking infrastructure or mechanical engineering and operations expertise, providing a boost to the overall EV ecosystem in the country.
