NHPC Limited has declared the commercial operation of Unit 2 (250 MW) of the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric (HE) Project, spanning Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, effective from 00:00 hours on 23 December 2025.
The announcement follows the successful completion of the unit’s trial run. The Subansiri Lower HE Project comprises eight units of 250 MW each, and NHPC said the commercial operation dates for the remaining units will be announced in due course.
