Nod soon.

The mood after the all-party meet recently shows that the government is set to give its nod for the sole bid submitted by the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ), country’s largest private multi-port operator, to build the port superstructure and operate the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multi-purpose Seaport.

The Cabinet which met on May 20 had deferred the decision to accept the sole bid recommended by the Empowered Committee headed by Chief Secretary and the board of the Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited following the apprehensions raised from some quarters and corruption charges of Rs.6,000 crore. All political parties were for the project and wanted the State’s interest to be protected.
