Nokia Expands R&D Centre in India.

Telecom giant Nokia plans to significantly expand its research and development (R&D) centre in India, with a focus on hiring more local talent. This announcement was made by Tarun Chhabra, Nokia India Country Manager, during a government event recently.

"We are going to hire more people in our R&D centre," Chhabra stated at a BSNL event. He emphasized the company's three-decade-long commitment to India and its determination to play a vital role in upskilling and employing local professionals.

Nokia's R&D operations in India already employ approximately 8,000 people. Additionally, a further 4,000 employees support global service operations from India, highlighting the country's importance to the company's worldwide strategy. "It means there is a huge opportunity," Chhabra added, underscoring the potential for further growth and job creation within the country.
