NTPC Group Reaches 90 GW Installed Capacity Milestone.

The NTPC Group recently said it has crossed 90 gigawatt (GW) of installed power generation capacity, underscoring its role in strengthening India’s energy security and supporting the country’s clean energy transition.

The milestone was achieved after the successful completion of trial operations of Unit 2 (800 MW) at Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), a subsidiary project comprising three 800 MW units.

With this addition, the group has further expanded its generation portfolio, marking a key step in its ongoing capacity-building programme.

The company said the achievement represents another milestone in its efforts to support a sustainable and energy-secure future for India, as it continues to scale up both conventional and cleaner energy assets
