NTPC Halts Operations at Tanda Thermal Power Station, Stage I.
NTPC has permanently discontinued operations at Stage I of its Tanda Thermal Power Station in Uttar Pradesh. The decision, which took effect on September 1, 2025, was approved by the company's competent authority, with official communication sent to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on September 4.
The shutdown affects four units, each with a capacity of 110 MW. With the closure of this stage, the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC group now stands at 82,926 MW.
