NTPC Likely to Start Work on 4,000 MW Plant at Ramagundam.
National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has agreed to set up 4,000 MW power generation plant at Ramagundam adjacent to their existing units. The work on the proposed plant will commence immediately and the first unit will be ready within 39 months.
The NTPC has to set up the 4,000 MW power plant in Telangana as mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act.
NTPC chairman and managing director Arup Roy Choudhury called on chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat recently and discussed the details of the plant.
The work on the unit will commence immediately and the first unit would be completed within 39 months. The new plant is expected to come up adjacent to NTPC's existing unit at Ramagundam, the NTPC chairman said.
The chief minister said he would take up the issues like required coal linkage for NTPC for the new plant with the Central government.
