NTPC Signs Strategic Joint Venture Agreement with UPRVUNL

NTPC Limited has inked a Supplementary Joint Venture Agreement (SJVA), Amendment-II, with U.P. Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) on April 1, 2024. This latest amendment, SJVA Amendment Number-II, is set to be an integral component of the Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) dating back to February 28, 2008, and SJVA Amendment Number-I from September 13, 2023. Together, these agreements encompass the entirety of the collaboration between NTPC and UPRVUNL concerning the specified matters.

The primary purpose behind the signing of SJVA Amendment-II is to allocate existing UPRVUNL land to the Joint Venture Company, MUNPL, for the Obra-D(2X800 MW) and Anpara-E (2X800 MW) Projects on a lease basis. This allocation comes at a nominal rate of Rs.1.00 per acre per year, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of power tariffs.
