"Odisha CM thanks PM Modi and Nitin Gadkari for National Highway project approval."
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently welcomed the Union Cabinet’s approval for widening a key stretch of National Highway 326 that passes through the State’s tribal-dominated districts, and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for the decision.
The Cabinet has cleared the proposal to widen the Mohana–Koraput section of NH-326 at an estimated cost of ₹1,526.21 crore. The project is expected to significantly improve all-weather connectivity to remote and interior areas of southern Odisha, particularly in the tribal districts of Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati.
In a post on X, Majhi said, “I express my sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari ji for the Cabinet’s approval to the proposal for widening of the Mohana–Koraput section of NH-326, with an estimated project cost of ₹1,526.21 crore.”
The Chief Minister said the highway expansion will enhance access to education, healthcare, markets and employment opportunities for people living in the region. He added that the project will accelerate economic activity, improve road safety and contribute to inclusive and holistic development of southern Odisha and the State as a whole.
