Wal-Mart, PepsiCo, Wipro keen to invest in AP.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with officials of retail major Wal-Mart, PepsiCo, Wipro and Hero Moto-Corp calling upon them to invest in Andhra Pradesh offering them all necessary support.
During the interaction with David Cheesewright, President & CEO, Wal-Mart International at Davos on the sidelines of World Economic Forum, areas of collaboration with the retail giant were discussed.
Wal-Mart and the Andhra Pradesh Government agreed to collaborate in the areas of technology, CSR and retail business. Wal-Mart is planning to open retail stores in Andhra Pradesh while creating opportunities to purchase 'Made in Andhra' products, according to a statement from Chief Minister's Office.
About 20 agricultural and horticultural products have been identified, especially organically grown for exports. Cashew, peanuts, rice, coconut, maize, pulses, fruits, marine products are among products identified. Cheesewright confirmed that he would visit Andhra Pradesh in April 2015.
