Pak allocates funds for Gilgit-Chitral road

Gilgit: The federal government has allocated Rs. 375 million for the construction of a road linking Gilgit and Chitral.

Works Secretary Col Fazal Hussain told reporters here on Tuesday that work on the project would start soon. He said after completion of the project, people would have better and safer roads to use for travelling, adding that the project had been launched on the orders of President Pervez Musharraf. He said after the project is completed, the area would usher in a new era of socio-economic development as trade activities would boost in the region.
