PCBL Chemical Secures Government Approval for ₹329-Crore Acetylene Black Project.

PCBL Chemical Limited has received government approval under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) for its proposed acetylene black project, involving an investment of around ₹329 crore.

The project will focus on manufacturing acetylene black, a critical conductive material used primarily in lithium-ion batteries and other advanced industrial applications.

The proposed investment is expected to strengthen India’s domestic advanced materials ecosystem and support the development of local supply chains for key inputs used in emerging technologies.

The project is also aimed at reducing India’s dependence on imported chemical materials for advanced battery manufacturing, supporting the country’s broader push towards domestic production and supply-chain resilience.

For PCBL Chemical, the project is expected to expand its participation in global value chains in advanced materials while creating opportunities for skilled employment.

The approval under the ECMS marks a significant step for the company as it seeks to expand into materials supporting the growing battery and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
