Pharmexcil biz delegation to Europe
Hyderabad: The Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) proposes to take a high-level business delegation to Hungary, Poland and Slovakia from July 2 to 9.
In a press release issued here, the Council Executive Director, Dr P.V. Appaji, said the delegation is proposed on the basis of suggestions/invitations received from Indian missions in these countries.
Ms Satwant Reddy, Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India, would lead the delegation, which will include the Pharmexcil Chairman, Mr D.B. Mody.
In view of the huge opportunities available for promoting pharma exports to these countries, Dr Appaji said Pharmexcil is making best efforts for organising successful buyer-seller meetings.
According to Dr Appaji, since Europe does not fall under focus areas identified for assistance, marketing development assistance is not available for the participants. He said due to the rising health care costs in Europe, many European countries were looking for sourcing generic medicines of good quality from Indian companies. It is also reflected from the fact that pharma exports to Europe constitute about 30 per cent of the country's total exports, which is the highest to any region, he said.
