PM Modi Calls for Integrated Planning of Major Infrastructure Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for greater use of common utility corridors while planning major transport and infrastructure projects, wherever technically and economically feasible. Chairing the 53rd PRAGATI meeting at Seva Teerth, Modi directed ministries and state governments to examine integrated infrastructure approaches from the planning stage. He stressed that faster project execution must go hand in hand with strong quality standards, modern technology and effective supervision.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed six major infrastructure projects covering the railway, road and power sectors across nine states. The projects have a combined estimated cost of more than ₹30,000 crore. Modi said project delays not only increase costs but also postpone the economic and social benefits expected by citizens and businesses. He urged authorities to monitor projects as integrated developments rather than treating individual packages or sections separately.
