PM Modi flags off Hisar-Ayodhya flight, lays stone for new airport terminal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a slew of development projects in Haryana to mark Ambedkar Jayanti, including major upgrades at Hisar’s Maharaja Agrasen Airport.

During his visit, PM Modi flagged off the first commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone for the airport’s new terminal building. The terminal, with an estimated cost of over ₹410 crore, will include a modern passenger terminal, a dedicated cargo terminal, and a new Air Traffic Control (ATC) building.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the BJP’s commitment to the state's development. “When BJP assigned me the duties for Haryana, I, along with several of my party companions, worked here.

Their hard work has strengthened the BJP in Haryana, and I am proud that the BJP is extremely serious and working to fulfil the dream of 'Viksit Haryana, Viksit Bharat',” he said.

The airport expansion is part of the government’s UDAN scheme, which aims to enhance regional connectivity and make air travel more affordable. With the launch of biweekly flights between Hisar and Ayodhya, and additional weekly flights to cities like Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh, Hisar Airport is poised to emerge as a key regional aviation hub.
