PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone for India’s Largest 2,500 MWh Battery Storage Project in Rajasthan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone for India’s largest battery energy storage system (BESS) project, with a capacity of 2,500 megawatt-hours (MWh), in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project is being developed by the Avaada Group.

In addition to the BESS, the project includes a 1,560 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar power component, making it one of the most significant renewable energy initiatives in the country.

PM Modi also inaugurated Avaada Group’s separate 282 MWp solar power project in another part of Bikaner the same day.

According to Avaada Group, the two projects together mark a total investment of over ₹9,200 crore in Rajasthan, reinforcing the state's position as a renewable energy hub in India.
