PM Modi to Visit Gujarat, Inaugurate Maritime Projects in 5 States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of major maritime and infrastructure projects spanning five states—Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu.

At a ceremony scheduled for 10:30 am in Bhavnagar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock and lay the foundation stone for a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.

Key projects to be launched or initiated include:

  A new container berth, cargo handling facilities, and infrastructure upgrades at Paradip Port, Odisha.

  Firefighting systems and modern road connectivity at Kamarajar Port, Tamil Nadu.

  Coastal protection measures like sea-walls and revetments at Chennai Port, and sea-wall construction at Car Nicobar Island.

  A multi-purpose cargo berth and Green Bio-Methanol Plant at Deendayal Port, Kandla.

  The Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat.

  Ship-repair facilities at Patna and Varanasi.

  
  

In Gujarat, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, and the Acrylics & Oxo Alcohol Project at the IOCL Refinery in Vadodara.

Among renewable energy and rural-focused initiatives, PM Modi will launch the PM-KUSUM 475 MW Component C Solar Feeder for farmers, the 45 MW Badeli Solar PV Project, and lay the foundation stone for additional LNG infrastructure, renewable energy projects, and coastal protection works.

Infrastructure and healthcare upgrades will also be part of the agenda, including the four-laning of 70 km of national highways and expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Singh Government Hospital in Jamnagar.

These initiatives are part of the Centre’s broader strategy to boost maritime infrastructure, coastal protection, renewable energy, and healthcare access across multiple states.
