PMI Electro Mobility to Deliver 250 Electric Buses to BEST.

PMI Electro Mobility, a leading manufacturer of electric buses, has signed a significant agreement with Brihan Mumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) to supply 250 air-conditioned, 12-meter electric buses. The delivery of these buses will begin in the September quarter of FY26, with the buses set to operate across various routes in Mumbai and its suburbs, enhancing city-wide connectivity under the GCC model.

These buses will feature advanced technology, providing a comfortable, safe, and eco-friendly travel experience for passengers. With this agreement, Mumbai will become the second city in Maharashtra to adopt electric buses, following Nagpur, which already operates 144 electric buses.

The 250 buses are expected to save around 300,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide and reduce diesel consumption by over 125 million liters over the 12 years of their operation. PMI Electro Mobility is currently operating more than 1,700 electric buses across 31 cities in India, from Leh to Kerala.
