PMRDA puts up ring road land acquisition plan in Solu: Nirgudi & Shinde.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has submitted the land acquisition proposal for Solu, Nirgudi and Wadgaon Shinde to district collector Rajesh Deshmukh to speed up work on the inner ring road project.

The state government early last week waived the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) stage for the public infrastructure project which will in turn hasten the project, PMRDA officials said recently.

The authority has sent a proposal to the district collector to commence land acquisition for the first phase covering the three villages of Solu (13.17 ha), Nirgudi (9.32ha) and Wadgaon Shinde (5.71ha). Officials said that the land will be acquired either through direct purchase or the compulsory Land Acquisition Act.

It is mandatory to carry out the social impact assessment before starting land acquisition for executing any mega project, as per the Land Acquisition Act.

However, the state has the discretion to skip this stage to speed up a public infrastructure project based on the importance and immediate need, deputy collector Ramdas Jagtap said. The notification was issued on September 8 this week.

PMRDA’s 83km inner ring road and MSRDC’s outer ring road have been proposed by the state government to help decongest the inner city roads of heavy vehicles.

Around 720 hectares of land will have to be acquired for the total project for the proposed 83.12 inner ring road from 44 villages in Khed, Haveli, Mulshi and Maval talukas in Pune district.

Phasewise work will be undertaken and the first stretch will be the 4.8km Solu to Wadgaon Shinde that is being constructed to decongest the busy Nagar Road.

“We have already put up the proposal for land acquisition for three villages of Solu, Nirgudi and Wadgaon Shinde for the first phase,” Jagtap said. It will cover a 5km stretch for which 28 hectares of land have to be acquired from three villages.
