"PRAGATI intervention clears the way for 43 long-delayed power projects worth ₹3 lakh crore."

Since the launch of the Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) platform, 53 projects of the Union Power Ministry have been reviewed, of which 43 have been completed while 10 are at various stages of construction, senior ministry officials said on Thursday (January 8, 2026).

Introduced in 2015, the PRAGATI platform aims to monitor and fast-track stalled or delayed projects of the central government, as well as those flagged by State governments, to ensure their timely execution.

Officials said the 53 projects reviewed under PRAGATI have a cumulative value of around ₹4.13 lakh crore. Of these, the 43 commissioned projects account for ₹3.02 lakh crore, while projects currently under construction are valued at about ₹1.10 lakh crore.

The reviewed projects include 22 undertaken by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), 16 by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), four each by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) and Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC), among others.

At present, two projects each of these major entities remain under construction, with the remaining projects having been successfully commissioned, officials added.
